Martha Negley For nearly 30 years, she has been painting decorative patterns. She started with a small textile company in New York in the late 70's working repeats and colorways and then relocated to the Midwest to work for a greeting card company designing gift wrap and paper plates. She still lives and works in Kansas City. In the past 10 years, she had her own company designing and licensing patterns for party ware, tabletop, fabric, wallpaper, gift, stationery products, and more.

Imported Folktale Fabrics...

I just love the whimsical Japanese cotton imports that are so incredibly popular these days. The designs are vintage inspired from folktales, storybooks, greeting cards and wrapping paper. I see them popping up everywhere......adorable clothing, purses, wallets, pillows, curtains, pj's and so much more. We just received some bolts with many, many more patterns that have been ordered. Yes, we have been told they really do come by "slow boat from Japan"! Dreaming.....

Today......I have been dreaming. Ever have one of those days when life seems to be so busy, stressful and you don't know what to do first because everything is screaming at you , "DO ME FIRST". So, I mentally checked out (I find this happening more and more) and began to remember our wonderful camping trip to the Oregon Coast. There is nothing more refreshing (at least to me) than camping on the beach, hearing the waves crash as you sit around the campfire and cooking a hearty breakfast before heading out to comb the beach for its bountiful treasures. The photo was taken by my daughter on one of the many spectacular days spent in Brookings. After coming back to reality with the phone ringing, packages to be mailed, fabrics to be ordered, I decided to share some of our wonderful "BEACH" themed fabrics for you to enjoy. We are delighted to have some of Moda's sock monkey fabrics called, "MALIBU MONKEY". We have a very limited amount of these prints and now Moda has completely sold out of this line.
